Hajime Rising Punch Types: Jabs, Hooks and Uppercuts
Three punch types, three selection keys
- Jabs: Select with Z.
- Hooks and uppercuts: Select hooks with X and uppercuts with C after their unlocks.
Z, X and C choose your active punch type
Hajime Rising uses Z for jabs, X for hooks and C for uppercuts. These are selection inputs. Left and right click then choose the punching hand. When you are learning the system, knowing which type is selected is more useful than pressing all three keys during the same exchange.
| Punch | Select | Learning focus |
|---|---|---|
| Jab | Z | Keep hand and target choices deliberate. |
| Hook | X | Finish the Hook unlock and practise the bag task. |
| Uppercut | C | Unlock Uppercut, select it and throw with the intended hand. |
Choose a practice goal for the selected punch
The three selection keys give you different attacks to practise. For an opening session, practise whichever selection you keep missing. If the tutorial is asking for hooks on the bag, choose X and focus on that task rather than changing types after every punch.
Once an action is comfortable, add another choice. Keep the hand consistent while changing punch type, or keep the type consistent while changing head and body aim. Use the result to identify whether the unfamiliar part is type selection or aim.
Keep target height separate from the attack name
Looking up aims for headshots and looking down aims for bodyshots. Middle-click lock-on helps define the targeting action, while T switches equipped boxing stances. Neither changes the meaning of Z, X or C in the official control list.
Continue to head versus body targeting when punch selection is familiar. It adds the next decision without pretending that every hook must target the head or that every uppercut comes with the same result against every opponent.
