Hajime Rising Jabs: Z Selection and Hand Inputs
Select jabs with Z
- Choose the type: Press Z for jabs.
- Throw deliberately: Use left or right click for the hand, then keep head or body aim in mind.
Use Z before working on the punching hand
To use jabs in Hajime Rising, select them with Z. Left click throws the left-handed punch; right click throws the right-handed punch. Learn the selection key and the hand input as two parts of the same intended action, rather than expecting the keyboard selection to throw a punch on its own.
A simple beginner drill is to keep jabs selected while practising each hand. Change only the part that is confusing you. If you repeatedly use the wrong mouse button, moving between all three punch types adds another decision before the first one is comfortable.
Give jab practice a clear next step
After the hand inputs feel familiar, add target height. The official controls use looking up for headshots and looking down for bodyshots. Keep that aim choice deliberate, rather than treating a jab as an automatic headshot. Middle click handles lock-on, which is separate from both the hand and the punch type.
If your next tutorial task asks for Hook, switch to that actual task. The Hook guide explains the unlock and X input. Staying with a familiar punch can help initial practice, but it should not prevent you from completing a different move requirement.
Move from the jab lesson to the tutorial task when you are ready for its next unlock. Your immediate goal is knowing what you selected and what you threw. Once that is clear, the next punch becomes another controlled option instead of another key you press without recognising its job.
