Hajime Rising Head vs Body: Targeting Choices

Last updated 2026-11-02Unofficial player article

Choose target height deliberately

  • Head: Look up for headshots.
  • Body: Look down for bodyshots; punch type and hand stay separate choices.

The difference starts with aim direction

Hajime Rising gives head and body targeting different look directions. Look up for headshots and down for bodyshots. Middle click is the lock-on input. These instructions let you choose a target height without assuming that a certain punch must always be used against one part of the opponent.

Practise a change you can explain

Keep a familiar punch selected while changing target height. You might practise the same hand with high aim, then low aim, before adding another punch type. This recommendation reduces the number of unfamiliar choices in the drill; it is not a hidden bonus for following that order.

If the attack feels wrong, first separate selection from aim. Z, X and C select different punch types, while left and right click select the hand. A wrong type is a different mistake from choosing the wrong target height, even when both happen in the same exchange.

Bring the decision into a spar

Try one deliberate target-height choice during a spar instead of treating every punch as an identical click. Afterwards, consider whether you used the intended direction, type and hand. That is a more useful early learning question than declaring one target universally superior after a single fight.

The sparring guide adds preparation and post-fight priorities. If the target-height choice was deliberate but the punch was wrong, return to Z/X/C practice. If the type was correct but the hand was wrong, work on the mouse input next.
