Hajime Rising Beginner Guide: Your First Spar
Prepare for your first spar
- Begin in the gym: Follow the tutorial and unlock the moves it asks you to practise.
- Learn the inputs: Select a punch type before using left or right click to throw it.
Follow the tutorial through its move unlocks
Start your Hajime Rising beginner session with the gym tutorial. Equip your boxing gloves, follow the training task, and open the skill tree when it asks for Hook or Uppercut. Selecting X or C is useful after the corresponding move is available; repeatedly pressing a selection key does not replace the unlock.
The early sequence introduces more than attacks. Infighter Dash uses Q with gloves equipped, while unlocked Weaving uses Space. Learn each action separately before combining it with punches. The PC controls reference keeps those inputs together when you need a quick reminder.
Make a small first-fight goal
Choose one aim for your first spar: select the intended punch, use the intended hand, or keep track of head and body aim. Left click throws the left-handed punch and right click throws the right-handed punch. Middle click handles lock-on; looking up aims for the head and looking down aims for the body.
Do not judge the whole character from one loss. A first fight can expose a stamina problem before it tells you much about stance choice. If you struggle to throw punches while your stamina is low, return to training with that specific problem in mind. Learning the controls and improving a stat are different jobs.
Leave time for the next session
After a spar, check your fighter's condition before immediately asking for another. The city has a hospital for treatment, food shops and clothing shops; these are separate destinations with different purposes. You do not need to buy an outfit before learning the basic controls.
Keep the first session achievable: complete the tutorial tasks, perform the unlocked moves deliberately, then try a spar. The sparring guide adds preparation and post-fight priorities once the opening inputs feel familiar.
